Luke 9Chapter 9
28. Eight days after He said these things, Jesus went up the
mountain, taking Peter, James and John along with Him. 29.
While He was praying, the way His face looked changed and His clothes shone as
white as lightening. 30. Then two men spoke with Jesus. They
were Moses and Elijah. 31. They appeared in God's glory and
spoke with Him about the
departure He was about to take in Jerusalem.
32. Peter and those with him woke up from a deep sleep.
They saw the way Jesus and the two men standing with Him glowed.
33. When Moses and Elijah began to leave, Peter said to Jesus, "Master,
it's a good thing that we're here. We'll pitch three tents, one for you, one
for Moses and one for Elijah." He didn't know what he was saying.
34. While Peter was saying this, a cloud
appeared and wrapped around them. As they entered the cloud, they were
frightened. 35. A voice spoke to them from the cloud: "This is
My Chosen Son," it said, "Hear Him." 36. When the voice
finished speaking, they found Jesus alone. And they kept quiet about what they
had seen and did not report it to anyone at that time.
